ANIMA のアニメーションを作るにあたり、アニメの原画を描きながらシーンに合わせて音の形も変わっていくような曲も同時にイメージしながら制作を進めていました。
思いついたらDTMに打ち込み、最終的に曲となるようにまとめました。音源をピアニストの山田磨依さんに渡して、譜面おこしと演奏をお願いしました。
演奏については、私の作ったアニメーションのデモを見ながら、その息遣いに合わせて弾いてもらう、というもので普段と異なるイレギュラーなお願いだったかもしれませんが、山田さんの感性と表現力でANIMAに大きな 生きている力 を注いでくださいました。
私は理論の知識があまりなく意識していませんでしたが、仕上がってみたら変ロ短調らしく、ショパンのピアノソナタ第2番 変ロ短調作品35 「葬送」や、松任谷由実さんの「春よ、来い」と同じ調で、自身にとって生と死については切り離せない感覚を持って生きてきたのだと感じています。
自信の制作で音楽を絡めていきたいということはずっと思い描いていた一つの夢だったので、このような初の機会に山田さんと共にお仕事させていただきとても嬉しく思っています。
In the making of the animation ANIMA, as I was creating the images I imagined the music at the same time, changing the sound to fit the scenes.
As thoughts came, I typed them into the computer, putting them together at the end. I gave the sound source to pianist Mai Yamada and asked her to create a score and performance.
Ms. Yamada created the score for ANIMA while watching the animation I made. It may have been an irregular request but through her sensitivity and expressive ability she poured a massive amount of life and energy into the work.
I am not without any theoretical knowledge but when the work was complete, it seemed to be in B-flat minor, the same key as Chopin’s Piano Sonata No.2 in B-flat minor, Op. 35 (Funeral March) and Matsutoya Yumi’s Haru yo, koi (Spring! Please come). For me, regarding life and death, I feel they are inseparable.
Creating artwork with music has always been a dream. I am thrilled by the opportunity to work with Ms. Yamada.
初めて『ANIMA』を観た時、登場するドラゴンの愛らしさと、溢れんばかりの躍動感、そして何よりも生命への畏敬を感じ、作品にすっかり魅了されてしまいました。
刻一刻と表情を変えるドラゴンの繊細な動きに演奏を合わせていき、ニュアンスを付けていくことは、今まで味わったことのない面白さ、奥深さを感じました。
数え切れないほど繰り返し映像を観て、細部まで頭にインプットした上で録音に臨みました。
かねてより夢見ていた、アートと音楽というジャンルの垣根を越えた、佐野さんとのコラボレーションをこのような形で実現することができ、大変光栄です。
佐野さんの世界観をお伝えすることに、演奏で少しでも貢献できているのなら幸いです。
When I first saw ANIMA, I was struck by the delightfulness of the dragon, its boundless energy, and, above all, respect for life. I was completely charmed by the work.
Adding music and nuance to the delicate movements of the dragon’s ever changing expressions was enjoyment and profundity I had not experienced to date. The recording was made after watching the animation countless times and putting the details in my head.
I had previously dreamed of breaking into the art and music genre. I am honored that through this collaboration with Ms. Sano, it has become a reality.
If my performance helps in even a small way to convey Ms. Sano’s vision, I will be extremely happy.
桐朋学園大学卒業後渡仏、2015年パリ地方音楽院最高課程修了。
全日本ピアノオーディション第1位、クロード・カーンコンクール（仏）等国内外で入賞。
J.M.ダマーズの作品を中心に、フランス音楽等の知られざる名曲を積極的に取り上げている。
2017年にはデビューアルバム『ダマーズ生誕90年によせて』をリリース。
これまでに多数のオーケストラとの協奏曲共演を行っている。国外の国際音楽祭等にも出演。
ハーピスト中村愛とのデュオ『Mercoledi』としてクラシック専門インターネットラジオOTTAVAでプレゼンターを務め、2020年にはアルバム『Primo』をリリース。
B.エイディ氏に師事。

After graduating from Toho Gakuen College of Music, Ms. Yamada completed the highest program at a Paris music academy in 2015.
She has placed first in the All Japan Piano Audition and has won domestic and international prizes including at the Claude Khan Piano Competition in France. Around the works of J. M. Damase, Ms. Yamada actively engages French and other lesser known works.
Her debut album Damazu Tanjyo 90 nen ni yosete (For Damase’s 90th Birthday) was released in 2017.
She has performed with many orchestras and at international music festivals, both domestically and internationally.
With harpist Megumi Nakamura as the duo Mercoledi, Ms. Yamada works as a presenter for OTTAVA, the classical music radio station on the Internet. In 2020 the duo released the album Primo. Currently, Ms. Yamada studies under B. Eidi.
