Explanation of work
The bat is regarded as a sign of good fortune. Even in the natural world, it plays an important ecological role in the spread of seeds and pollination. For this work, I included a greatly stylized wing to the mega-bat motif, and aimed to produce a netsuke that was easy to hold and feel in hand.
