Explanation of work（KABU）
On the front side, there is a cat that wants to play with her haori string, and on the back side, she is playing with Neko-mata that appears on her kimono. The figure of the cat is taken from Utagawa Kuniyoshi's ukiyoe, "Hyaku-monogatari full of goldfish," and at the end of the catnip, there is a goldfish that is surprised by Neko-mata.
1991: Studied metal engraving, inlay, and other techniques in traditional metal craft at Hiko Mizuno College of Jewelry.
2009: Studied netsuke sculpture under Ryushi KOMADA and Akira KUROIWA at the Asahi Culture’s Contemporary Netsuke Course.
2014: Received the New Artist Award at The First Golden Netsuke Awards, Kyoto Seishu Netsuke Art Museum.
