Minamoto no Yorimitsu is slaying Tsuchi-gumo.
1967: Born in Tokyo.
1993-1996: Studied at the Yanaka School of the Japan Association of Ivory Sculpture.
Because his family ran an antique store, Zanmai acquired the essence of antiques while growing up. His netsuke subjects are various, from gruesome to humorous and ironic. He may be called an artist at the pioneer of contemporary Yōkai themed netsuke.
